Oreocharis cavaleriei was rediscovered during recent explorations in Longli County, Guizhou Province, China. This species was initially collected by Julien Cavalerie in 1907 and described as a new species by Augustin Abel Hector Léveilé in 1909. Since its initial collection, there have been no further records of its discovery. The species is distinguished by its suborbicular leaf blade and yellow corolla. Morphologically, it resembles the recently described species O. aimodisca and O. tianlinensis. An amended taxonomic description of O. cavaleriei is presented, accompanied by color photographs.
