Achimenes multiflora

Now (again) known as Mandirola multiflora, this plant has had a tortured nomenclatural history. It has been known as Achimenes hirsutaMandirola multifloraAchimenes multiflora, Gloxinia planalta and Gloxinia hirsuta.

This species appears to have considerable horticultural potential, but it does not seem to be in cultivation.

Another somewhat inferior print may be seen here, and flowers of a living plant here. Note in particular the curious structures on the edge of the corolla, almost but not quite fringes, that are present in the print and clearly visible (particular in the close-up photo) in the living plants.
