This elegant, well-grown plant was exhibited at the 2006 Convention of The Gesneriad Society. Juvenile specimens of this species exhibit a pronounced and unusual variegation, with a very dark mid-leaf area with silvery surround and dark red leaf backs. The red leaf backs are retained to maturity, which culminates in this interesting cluster of flowers in the middle of the plant.
