Also known as Pentadenia katzensteiniae and Columnea lavandulacea. It is named after Jeanne Katzenstein, accomplished editor of the The Gloxinian, publication of the American Gloxinia and Gesneriad Society. It is often misspelled as C. katzensteinii.
