This species is recorded in the Gesneriad Register (2009, Episcia and Alsobia) as E. fimbriata ‘My Blue Heaven’, although there appear to be no current commercial listings under that name – everyone uses the name as at the Smithsonian, ‘Blue Heaven’.
E. fimbriata is variable, with several named varieties. It has been collected in Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela and Peru.
