Mandirola ichthyostoma is a diminutive rhizomatous plant native to Brazil. The specimen above was exhibited at the 2018 convention show of the Gesneriad Society. Other photos may be seen in a slideshow by clicking one of the links below.
Color of this species may be somewhat variable, as is apparent from the slideshow photos. Bear in mind that differences in cameras can account for some differences in rendered color, although the specimen illustrated above is fairly true to the actual plant.
- A closer view of the flowers, illustrating the jagged corolla margins which appear to have been recognized in the name of the species — ichthyostoma suggests “fish teeth”!
