Nautilocalyx has many attractive species, most of which are grown for their striking foliage. This beautiful specimen is a good example of the decorative potential of the genus.
I had originally posted this plant as an unidentified species, as I thought another, different, photo was N. p. ‘Lightning’. Useful advice has been received from a number of knowledgeable growers, and it seems clear that the other image is in reality of Drymonia macrophylla, and this is truly N. p. ‘Lightning.
