Nematanthus fissus is an epiphytic small shrub native to the coastal Atlantic forests of southern and south-eastern Brazil. It features resupinate flowers, with the pouch on the upper rather than lower corolla, as is more usual in the genus. The flowers also have a characteristic upward bend toward the base of the corolla. The stems are arching/spreading, rather than trailing directly down. The flowers and calyces are quite hairy.
