Petrocosmea rotundifolia was in cultivation for many years under the name P. minor, and remains in cultivation under that name. The plants illustrated here are the true P. rotundifolia. The feature photo above was exhibited at the 2007 convention show of The Gesneriad Society, under the name P. minor.

There are a number of clones of this species that are similar in appearance such as “holly leaf”, “veined leaf” and “smooth leaf” that are sometimes seen as P. rotundifolia variant in cultivation. The differences are minor and are simply different clones of the species. See the article here.
