Seemannia purpurascens ‘Purple Prince’ is a hybrid created by John Boggan, by crossing two different forms of the species. His objective was to obtain superior flower characteristics, and to build on the dark foliage and attractive red hairs of some forms of the species.
He was successful on all counts!
