S. tuxtlensis grows upright, a couple feet tall, maybe more, often less. Thin leaves, needs humidity. Difficult to keep alive because it is extremely touchy about moisture, it must never ever dry out even a little.
This is a relatively compact plant, unlike some other members of the genus, which grow as shrubs — see S. calycosa.
