Streptocarpus cyanandrus is a very small plurifoliate and perennial plant that is quite limited in its natural range. It has been collected only from the higher elevations of Mt. Rukotsu, in the vicinity of Nyanga in Zimbabwe, although it was at one time widely cultivated and may still be in cultivation.

The plant forms a tuft of several loosely associated leaves, from 5 to a maximum of 15 centimeters long, 1 to 5 centimeters wide. The attractively striped flowers are small but of good size in proportion to the plant.

The species has been used in hybridizing, and attractive hybrids such as Streptocarpus ‘Mighty Mouse’ have been produced and are in cultivation.
