Streptocarpus galpinii grows in the crevices of granite boulders around Mbabane in Swaziland. In sunny areas, this species displays a plurifoliate habit, but when growing in moist, shady areas, it reverts to its unifoliate growth habit. Variation in flower size and color is also noted. Populations growing at higher elevations have larger flowers than those found farther south around Swaziland. Flower color ranges from medium-violet to pinkish tones.
