Chris Rose had an extensive and ambitious Streptocarpus hybridizing program, although few of his hybrids are currently in cultivation. It is interesting, though, to see the kinds of results he produced.

This hybrid is the product of a cross involving S. ‘Joanna’ and a seedling from S. ‘Ruby’ x S. ‘Elsi’. A sibling seedling is S. ‘Turbulent Tide.

In this case, the pink ground color has red veining over it on the lower lobes, bleeding into a predominantly red center. I thought this an exceptionally attractive flower when I saw it as an unnamed seedling, and was pleased that proved worthy of distribution, even though it no longer appears to be in cultivation.
