Unique elements of the flora of the Batu Tengar Cave include Begonia keithii (Bcgoniaceae), a new species endemic to this hill, and the phytogeographic affinities of its flora, which are not only with the nearby Madai limestone hills. but also with limestone in Kalimantan (Borneo) and the Philippines. Notes on species of special interest, Euphorbia lacei (Euphorbiaceae), Impatiens winkleri (Balsaminaceae) and Paraboea madaiensis (Gcsncriaceae) arc given.
