This form of the species is from the Smithsonian Institution, USBRG 96-163, and has been in cultivation for many years. It was exhibited at the 2006 convention of the Gesneriad Society.
This is the collection of the species which has been in cultivation for many years. Note the characteristic dark foliage and the small-lobed flowers. A collection from Ecuador has a somewhat different appearance.
