P. flavimaculata is a large-growing species, and at maturity can spread to 60 cm (24 inches), or even more. It’s fairly easy to grow, and will produce many of its attractive flowers in a cool but sunny east window.

The name of the species refers to the yellow spot (flav=yellow, maculata=spot) on top of the flowers.
