Exhibited at the 2010 convention of the Gesneriad Society.
This species has had a tortuous taxonomic history, as is apparent from the “previous names” above, but seems now settled as a variety of P. subulata. It was formerly placed as a variety of what is now known as P. repanda, a similar-looking species, but molecular/genetic studies have confirmed that it is not closely related to that taxon.
