Primulina ‘Xuan’s Party Dress’ is a beautiful new hybrid introduced in 2018 by Li Shu, Wei Yi-Gang and Wen Fang of the Gesneriad Conservation Center in China. It is a selection from the cross P. liboensis x P. rongangensis, with the silvery veins reflecting heritage from the silver-veined form of P. liboensis.

The feature plant above was exhibited in the 2021 virtual show of the Gesneriad Society, as was the plant that can be seen here. Note that the color of the flowers appears different in the two specimens, as does the degree of silver in the leaves. These variations are probably accounted for by some combination of culture and the vagaries of photographic reproduction.
