This plant was about 30″ from leaf tip to leaf tip when exhibited at an AVSC convention in the 1980s. It was obtained from Allan Gardens, a public conservatory owned and operated by the City of Toronto, and was one of a number of similar hybrids often displayed in beds. They were almost certainly hybrids of the old “Rechsteineria” group with species like S. eumorpha. Sadly, this cultivar is lost, and the City of Toronto no longer maintains any similar plants in its collection.
