Other than that it is white this cultivar is very similar to one of its parents, the peloric S. cardinalis ‘George Kalmbacher’. The white color comes from its other parent S. cardinalis ‘Innocent’, although it is likely that multiple generations were grown to produce the stable seed line now available for this hybrid.

Since all of its lineage is within the S. cardinalis group, the cultivar can properly be referred to as S. cardinalis ‘Skydiver’ despite being a hybrid with a complex back story.
