This is a recent collection distributed as seed by Mauro Peixoto of BrazilPlants, near Sao Paulo. It is quite different in flower color than the standard forms of S. douglasii, but botanists are of the opinion that it is a regional variant of that species.
The plant here was grown under artificial light, and the tall inflorescences hit the fixtures, causing them to bend.
