This fine hybrid was created by Dave Zaitlin, by crossing S. bullata with S. tubiflora. The bullate foliage is apparent, a legacy of S. bullata, and the large flowers of S. tubiflora also provide a legacy to the hybrid.
Seed was widely distributed, with all of the very similar seedlings given the name ‘Judy Becker’. Individual clones may vary to some degree, exhibiting superior character.
