This is a newly discovered species that has not yet been published, although this is expected to happen shortly and it is likely to be given the name Sinningia obliquifolia. It is a handsome plant with heavy and textured leaves,. Flowers are in the standard hooded form of many Sinningia species.

It has the potential to grow quite tall, as is apparent in the feature photo above which is some 56 cm from the tip of the bottom leaf to the top of the plant. Even more impressive is the in situ photo linked below, where the plant is almost as tall as the collector, Alain Chautems.
