This wonderful modern hybrid is a cross between a “standard” S. speciosa hybrid and, according to the hybridizer Jay Sespico, a complex hybrid involving S. guttata, S. ‘Ozark Scentimental Journey”. While it is therefore a mixture of species, and not a “pure” S. speciosa hybrid, it has the appearance of a small hybrid within that group.
