Saintpaulia grandifolia is one of the species now understood to be nested within the Streptocarpus ionanthus group and is properly known as Streptocarpus ionanthus ssp. grandifolius. It produces large plants with smallish flowers often produced in abundance.
There are several selections from within this group, and the one illustrated above is known as Clone 237. This clone is characterized in particular by attractively mottled flowers. As with all members of this subspecies, it has beautiful large leaves.

- Another plant of the same clone, showing apparently greener leaves – probably a function of lighting or culture
- A plant that may be the original collection of the species
