Streptocarpus nitidus is seldom seen in cultivation, although it is an attractive and relatively compact subject. It is characterized by quite rounded and glossy leaves, along with dark purple/blue flowers.

It is native to the Nguru Mountains of Tanzania, and grows in very moist locations in fairly deep shade, typically as a lithophyte on mossy rocks.
