Location Madagascar: The members of this section remind one strongly of Saintpaulia, which is why they have been given the name. They grow as rosettes on earth banks and cliff faces in the dense rainforests of Eastern Madagascar. Their flowers are pouched shaped and very small. Their rainforest habitat is severely threatened by deforestation in Madagascar. Horticulturally they have huge potential because of their leaf rosette being so similar to Saintpaulia, but their flowers are homogenously white and very small, which may make them less attractive. Because of their remote locations in Madagascar, they are not yet commonly available in horticulture.
