Location Madagacascar: Most of the species in this section have attractive small leaf rosettes with very hairy leaves, hence the name Ciliatifolium, the hairs probably prevent moisture loss and capture dew. They grow in rock clefts in higher elevations, with attractive small white, mauve or blue flowers. The exception to these characters is Streptocarpus itremensis which is unifoliate and it has blue flowers. The species now described as Streptocarpus betsiliensis was originally described Colpogyne betsilensis (due to its straight seed capsules) by Burtt (1971). This section has definite horticultural potential but growing material is not readily available.
Species in section Ciliatifolium:

Streptocarpus ibityensis
Streptocarpus itremensis
