John Boggan has been hybridizing Kohlerias with the objective of producing interesting foliage colors and patterns, combined with bright and interesting flowers. K. ‘Silver Feather’ is a nice illustration of the success he has had to date, as is K. ‘Snakeskin’. One of the ancestors of this hybrid is K. bogotensis.
The photograph above nicely illustrates the decorative and sculptural nature of the cultivar, even without flowers. The plant was an award winner at the 2018 convention of the Gesneriad Society.
