This cultivar is an exciting new hybrid from JD Parise. A cross of Sinningia ‘Jung’s China Doll’ (seed parent) with a large-flowered selection of Sinningia concinna Seropedica (pollen parent), it captures the best of both parents. It was exhibited at the 2025 spring show of the Toronto African Violet and Gesneriad Society.
Sinningia concinna Seropedica is a relatively recent collection of the species, which has much more vigor and fertility then the original introduction of the species. The latter has long contributed its beauty to hybrid lineages in Sinningia, but is difficult to grow and has limited fertility. While the Seropedica population has a “plainer” flower, it has the potential to make a big impact in Sinningia hybridizing.
