This hybrid is a lovely little plant, easy to grow and flower. It was originally distributed under its hybrid name of Sinningia kautskyi × Sinningia hirsuta. Two hybridizers, Mauro Peixoto of Brazil and David Zaitlin of the United States, separately produced and distributed the hybrid. As the plants from the two sources are indistinguishable, all are now referred to as S. ‘Amizade’, which is Portuguese for friendship.
