Nematanthus fluminensis

The flowers of the species are large and showy, often produced on bare parts of the stem. The underside of the leaves are sometimes a nice red or marked with red veins, making an overall favorable impression when flowering and viewed from underneath. N. flumensis


Nematanthus fornix

Nematanthus gregarious

Exhibited at the 2016 convention of the Gesneriad Society. The combination of shiny green leaves and small bright orange flowers makes this species a delight.



Nematanthus hirtellus

Easy to grow. This species sends a single stem straight up, and keeps leaves only on the upper end. This might be an adaptation to growing in tall grass? It makes it a poor horticultural subject though. The plant is colorful, with yellow flowers, purple calyx,







Nematanthus punctatus

This unusual Nematanthus, collected by Alain Chautems, has an enormous white flower with purple spots. It drips its prodigious nectar onto the leaves below. This species appears to be closely related to Nematanthus albus. Neither name was yet
